This complete performance valvetrain kit combines the Competition Cams 31-246-3 Xtreme Energy hydraulic flat tappet camshaft with Enginetech high-performance hydraulic lifters, a true double roller timing set, Stage 2 high-strength valve springs with hardened retainers and a full set of 6.876-inch push rods. Engineered specifically for 1969–1991 non-roller Ford 302 hydraulic flat tappet engines, this kit delivers major gains in throttle response, airflow efficiency, torque and high-RPM horsepower—while giving your engine a bold and aggressive performance tone.

The 31-246-3 features .519″/.523″ lift, 274°/286° advertised duration, 230°/236° duration at .050 and a 110° LSA. With over .519″ lift, this cam opens the valves deep into the cylinder head’s maximum-flow region. The longer duration timing extends valve open time during peak flow, dramatically improving combustion efficiency and delivering a harder-pulling mid-range with strong power all the way to about 6,200 RPM.

The 110° lobe separation increases controlled valve overlap, enhancing exhaust scavenging and intake charge velocity. This gives the engine quicker throttle response, faster RPM climb and a sharper, more powerful performance feel.
