The Competition Cams 54-602-11 Big Mutha’ Thumpr hydraulic roller camshaft is built for GM LS Gen III/IV engines and is aimed at drivers who want extreme attitude, serious performance, and the famous Big Mutha’ Thumpr idle. With .573″ intake / .558″ exhaust lift, this cam opens the valves far deeper than a stock LS cam, moving a lot more air and fuel through the engine. That extra airflow means stronger cylinder pressure, harder hits when you step into the throttle, and a big jump in overall power and response.
Its 235° intake / 249° exhaust duration @ .050″ keeps the valves open long enough to fully take advantage of that added lift and airflow. On the street or strip, you’ll feel a much stronger mid-range, aggressive top-end pull and a rev-happy attitude that makes the engine feel like a true performance build. This cam loves RPM and rewards builds with real supporting mods.
The tight 109° lobe separation angle (LSA) is what creates the legendary Big Mutha’ Thumpr lope. The heavy overlap produces a deep, nasty, choppy idle that shakes the car and turns heads from across the parking lot. With the right converter, gears, exhaust and tuning, this cam gives your LS one of the most aggressive, unmistakable sound signatures available.
