It is designed for Ford small block 302 engines that need a major improvement in sound, torque, throttle response, and overall performance. The camshaft features 279 and 296 degrees advertised duration, 227 and 241 degrees duration at .050, .491 and .476 lift, and a 107-degree lobe separation angle. These specifications create the high overlap needed for the classic Thumpr lopey idle while improving cylinder scavenging and delivering stronger mid-range torque.
Operating in the 2,000 to 5,800 RPM range, this camshaft provides quicker throttle response, stronger acceleration, and a dramatic improvement in engine sound and personality.
