Designed for Ford 221, 260, 289 and 302 hydraulic flat tappet engines, this kit improves torque, airflow efficiency, throttle response and mid-range acceleration while maintaining excellent street drivability.
The Competition Cams 31-234-3 camshaft features .477″/.484″ lift, 256°/268° advertised duration, 212°/218° duration at .050 and a 110-degree lobe separation angle. The increased lift opens the valves deeper into the high-flow section of the intake and exhaust ports, improving charge volume and combustion efficiency. The 212°/218° duration at .050 extends valve open time during peak flow, helping the engine pull harder through the mid-range. The 110° LSA provides controlled overlap, enhancing exhaust scavenging while maintaining vacuum for power brakes and smooth street operation.
