This performance kit includes the Competition Cams 12-430-8 hydraulic roller camshaft, Redline Performance link-bar lifters and a billet steel double-roller timing set — all engineered to increase airflow, torque, throttle response and overall performance in Chevy 262–400 small block engines.
The 12-430-8 camshaft features .525″/.525″ lift, 280°/280° advertised duration, 224°/224° duration @ .050, and a 110° LSA. These specifications dramatically improve cylinder filling by allowing the valves to open deeper and stay open longer during the most efficient part of the airflow cycle. The result is a clean, strong mid-range torque curve, faster throttle reaction and a more aggressive pull throughout the powerband.
The 110° lobe separation angle enhances overlap and scavenging for increased mid-range strength and a crisp, noticeable performance idle. This cam is ideal for street/strip SBC builds with performance heads, headers, dual exhaust, and a performance converter.
