This complete camshaft and valvetrain upgrade package pairs the Competition Cams 31-246-3 Xtreme Energy hydraulic flat tappet camshaft with Enginetech high-performance lifters and a true double roller timing set. Designed for Ford 221, 260, 289 and 302 hydraulic flat tappet engines, this kit delivers major increases in torque, throttle response, airflow efficiency and high-RPM horsepower.
The 31-246-3 grind features .519″/.523″ lift, 274°/286° advertised duration, 230°/236° duration @ .050 and a 110° lobe separation angle. With over .519″ lift, the cam opens the valves deep into the cylinder head’s high-velocity airflow region, significantly improving both intake and exhaust efficiency. The long duration keeps valves open during peak flow, resulting in stronger mid-range torque, quicker RPM climb, better combustion efficiency and extended high-RPM performance.
The 110° LSA introduces controlled valve overlap, improving exhaust scavenging and intake charge velocity.
