Designed specifically for 1969–1991 non-roller hydraulic 302 engines, this kit transforms the sound and performance of the classic small block Ford. The 31-603-5 camshaft is one of the most aggressive flat tappet grinds available, featuring 295 and 312 degrees advertised duration, 243 and 257 degrees duration at .050, .512 and .497 inches of lift and a tight 107-degree lobe separation angle. These specs create significant valve overlap for the signature Big Mutha’ Thumpr choppy idle while improving cylinder scavenging and delivering harder mid-range acceleration.
The operating range of 2,400 to 6,400 RPM makes this camshaft ideal for street/strip builds that spend time in the mid and upper RPM ranges.
