The M295 is a standard pressure/standard volume factory-style replacement oil pump for LS applications. This pump is equivalent to GM part number 12586665 and offers improved resistance against cavitation at higher RPM. The factory LS oil pump can suffer from cavitation above 6200 RPM which creates a drop in oil pressure and aerates the oil. We recommend that any LS application that will be run at or above 6200 RPM should upgrade to the M295 oil pump.
